The University Hospital of Martinique has three nurseries. These units are called Newborn Unit, NICU Continous Care and NICU Level III. The level III is the only one on our Island. These specialized Units with different levels of care provide a safe environment for newborns and families
From prenatal education to the baby’s delivery to critical care, our teams are dedicated 24/7 to the babies and their parents whatever the medical status is either critical or more calm.
NICU Nurses and medical staffs are trained to face with severe prematurity or growth retardation as well as extremely Low Birth Weight Infants
Our board-certified neonatologists and highly specialized medical services ensure that every baby is given individualized attention and access to the most advanced care and technology available.
In addition, a Neonatal Transport Service, involving the Mobile Medical Unit of the UHM with extrasupport from our neonatal intensivits is on call 24/7 to respond to critically ill infants and bring them back safely to our NICU for immediate treatments and investigations
